Switchfoot and Copeland at Slim's San Francisco
The best way to spend Valentine's day... with hundreds of sweaty Switchfoot and Copeland fans.
The concert was awesome! One of the best switchfoot shows I've ever seen. Jon said it himself, the band was having so much fun last night. And it showed, he was going crazy stealing cymbols from Chad and banging them like no other. During Meant to Live, he made his way through the crowd to the bar on the side and stood on top of the bar to sing the last chorus of the song! Crazzzzyyyy. As for Copeland, they played a pretty good show too. Seemed like most of the people were there to see Switchfoot, some were being really rude and talking and making really odd comments during Copeland's set. I wanted to say something to the rude people behind me but since I was gonna be standing next to them for the next 2 hours... I didn't want to make an awkward moment. The venue was nice and small, which made the setting really close and intimate. We were about 4-5 rows away from the stage and I couldn't believe how close the band felt to us. Switchfoot is implementing an awesome idea where they record the first 6-7 songs and selling them on CDs at the end of the night as an "official bootleg". Its a great way to take a lil' bit of the concert home with you. :) We were singing along to the songs from the night all over again on the car ride home.

One odd thing... before the show and in between sets, they were playing Howard the Duck on a big projector screen... odd film choice.

One of the best SF shows you've ever seen? Wow, that thought gives me chills. I've only seen them once (last October) and they totally blew me away.
I'm an "older" fan and I've been to a lot of good concerts in my life, but nothing compared to theirs. To think of them possibly getting better...I'm pretty much speechless at the thought.
