Last night my friend Andrew and I sat outside the Civic Center in San Francisco to watch Madama Butterfly for free. It was a live simulcast of what was going on inside the opera house.
I know... pretty classy, McDonalds and an Opera.

OH my goodness, it was such an amazing performance. I was sitting on the edge of my blanket all night. When Butterfly uttered the last notes of "Un Bel Di" I wanted to cry. In fact, Soprano Patricia Racette had tears running down her cheek after the last note of that aria.
After the opera was done, they brought the stars to meet the crowd out watching the simulcast in the civic center. It was COOL!

Opera singers... on golf carts.

I love good meaty opera....

Today, we had Thai food for dinner today at Apple. On the dinner order form you can enter in a comment about your order and typically people put no mayo, no spicy or something like that. Knowing Thai I put...
"Ped Sap Sap" meaning Tangy and spicy.
When I picked up my dinner today...

The cook wrote, roughly translated... very spicy indeed.
It made me smile :)

Over the weekend, the BBC accidentally mistook a cab driver for tech savvy IT Expert Guy Kewney. The cabbie was waiting in the lobby for a fare when he was swooshed on set, mic'd up and before he knew it answering questions about the Apple Vs Apple Legal battle. Watch as he gives a face of shock then does his best to go along with it all, hilarious!

I'm watching Jurassic Park right now. I was in the 5th grade when I first watched it. At about the same time was when I pretty much decided I was going to work for Apple Computers.
The iPod was not even a thought back then, but as most of you know, my dream has come true.

You can really tell when something is from God when it fits perfectly, like a puzzle. And I am still consistently reminded of that everyday at work. This week has been a whirl wind. The week began just like any other week, but by the end, I am in charge of developing two new pieces of software for the iPod team. Am I excited, HECK YES! The last few days have been so ridiculously fun getting to know other software engineers and about the underpinnings of the iPod.
God is goooood.

Speaking of perfection...

This metaphor has hit me atleast twice this week. Once from Miles McPherson and the following from Donald Miller; from his book "Through Painted Deserts":
God, if like light, travels at the speed of light, and because space and time are mingled with speed, the speed of light is the magic, exact number that allows a kind of escape from time. Scientists have played with atomic clocks, matched exactly, setting one in a plane to fly around the world, and another motionless, waiting for the return of its partner. When they reunite, the one that traveled rests milliseconds behind the one fixed. The fast you move, physicists have found, the less you experience time. And if you move at the speed of light, you will never age; you are outside of time; you are an eternal creature. But before you strap on your running shoes, you should know scientists warn us that with speed, matter increases in density, so an attempt at the speed of light will have you imploded by the time you hit Wichita, your atoms as dense as bowling balls... You and I, made from molecules, cannot travel at the speed of light and cannot escape time, at least not with a body. Consider the complexity of light in light of the Hebrew metaphor: we don't see light; we see what it touches. It is more or less invisible, made from nothing, just purposed and focused energy, infinite in its power. How fitting, then, for God to create and existence, then a metaphor, as if to say, here is something entirely unlike you, outside of time, infinite in its power and thurst: is something you can experience but cannot understand. Throughout the remainder of the Bible, then, God calls Himself light...
Wow Donald... thanks...

Many of you may wonder of this CENT I've previously mentioned...
CENT stands for... Christ Evangelism Net Theatre...
I am one of the directors for a musical they are putting on the weekend of May 19th. These kids are crazzzzzy and I have an amazing time with them. Being around these guys make me wonder how in the world they have soooo much energy... I don't remember having that much when I was their age. I've never really directed a show before but I am having such an awesome time learning and getting a show going by interpretting words onto stage. FUN FUN FUN.

Its about two weeks till our show and its definitely crunch time...

OH YEAH, the iPod team rented out a movie theater for a showing of mission impossible this morning. The movie was good but the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN TRAILER WAS GREAT!

The weather has been so nice lately. :)
This past weekend the weather was so nice I rode my bike all the way to work, just to see if its doable. It was a 40 min. ride each way so it was not bad at all, I just have to figure out what to do about the sweatiness that happens after the ride is over. Surprisingly, I was not too sore the next day. Probably because of all the 'testing' I've been doing at work.

But because of all this nice weather, allergies are killing me.

Its really exciting to see Invisible Children doing so well. My old roomate is one of the filmmakers and I must say I'm really impressed with all the publicity and action they have achieved. This past weekend they had the Global Night Commute. Tens of thousands of people show sympathy for the invisible children in Uganda by traveling to a public place and sleep there as a group, to imitate the trips the children make. There were many letters written that night, I hope something positive starts rolling.
